This painting was a precious gift of encouragement from Grace. As she prayed for me, God gave her the image of a beautiful doe. Its gentle eyes, grace, and quiet strength reminded me how God sees me—as a loving mother, resilient, beautiful, and deeply cherished.
The painting also brings to mind Isaiah 35:6: "The lame shall leap like a deer." It reminds me that God is able to restore strength and joy, bringing hope and new life even after difficult seasons.

My Inspiration:
During a church service in December 2023, we celebrated Pastor Tammy's birthday. As the congregation gathered to pray and bless her, I received the image of a doe.
I sensed that the Lord was inviting me to paint this picture for her. As I spent time in prayer and studied different images of deer, I felt led to paint the doe standing among flowers, bathed in warm sunlight.
The flowers speak of God's beauty, provision, and abundant blessings, while the sunlight reminds us of His constant presence. Like the doe, the painting reflects a gentle strength, grace, and quiet confidence that I believe God wanted to affirm in her.
My prayer is that this artwork will always remind her that she walks in His presence and is lovingly cared for by Him.

My Inspiration:
I have a friend who was a worship leader at his church. When he was going through a difficult season, he came to mind when I was lunching alone and the words “blue bird” and “winter” surfaced, so I searched for a bird that sings through the cold. That’s when I discovered the blue jay.
I was drawn to images of blue jays set against snow, yet I felt the Holy Spirit gently redirect me to paint it against green.
When the painting was done, I had it delivered to him. He later shared that he had been deeply discouraged that very day. As he looked at it and read the message, he felt the Father’s love wash over him.
Green, it turns out, is his favourite colour. And blue—the colour of the prophetic—was a reminder: to keep singing, to keep worshipping, even in the midst of trials, trusting he would still hear God’s voice.

This painting hangs in my study, where I see it every day. It's a deeply personal piece that reminds me why I do what I do—not simply because I love my work, but because I believe I have been called to something greater than myself.
Whenever I look at it, I'm reminded to keep singing my song and to live out my purpose faithfully. It brings gladness, peace, and renewal, especially on the difficult days. The Inspiration:
When I met this lady at church and heard her story, I felt deeply humbled. She shared about growing up feeling unwanted because she was born a girl, the loss of a child to leukemia, and the challenges of raising a child with special needs. Yet through every season, she displayed remarkable strength and perseverance.
I prayed and asked God to give me a gift for her—a reminder of how much He loves and values her.
This painting of a salmon leaping upstream against the rapids was the result. The message I sensed was that God had been with her through every challenge, strengthening her and carrying her forward when the journey was difficult.
Like the salmon, she had faced many obstacles, yet by His grace, she continued to press on with courage and resilience.
Each painting carries a unique story and is accompanied by a written reflection/message sharing the inspiration behind it.

Kyler's Journey
Kyler first came to Character Montessori when he was just 18 months old. During the COVID season, I became close friends with his mother, and we often prayed together. While we prayed, my husband looked after Kyler, and over the years they developed a special friendship that has continued long after he graduated from preschool.
When Kyler was about ten years old, he noticed a painting of a boat in our home and surprised me by saying how much he liked boats. We had always known him to be fascinated by cars, so his comment stayed with me.
I couldn't shake the feeling that I should paint a boat especially for him. As I prayed, the image of a sailing boat came to mind.
I sensed the Lord reminding Kyler that life is a journey with seasons of calm and storms alike. Yet wherever life takes him, he will never sail alone. Jesus will always be with him, guiding and watching over him.
The sail became the central symbol of the painting. Just as a sail catches the wind, we are invited to lift our hearts to the Holy Spirit and allow Him to lead us through every season. The cloud in the sky speaks of God's faithful presence and protection.
When I gave Kyler the painting, I attached a handwritten letter to the back explaining its message. Looking back, I realise I wasn't simply giving him a painting. I wanted him to have a lifelong reminder that God—and our family—would always love him. As children grow up and follow different paths, I hope this painting will always remind him that he is never alone and that God's presence goes with him wherever he sails.
Years later, at age 12, Kyler wrote:
"I keep the painting in my bedroom because that's where I study, so I see it every day. Whenever I look at it, it reminds me to straighten my sails.
The painting makes me feel happy because it reminds me that if I'm doing something wrong, I need to adjust my sails and correct my mistakes. Just as a boat changes direction to stay on course, I want to keep going the right way."

The Inspiration:
I painted this delicate pink rose for a young lady about the same age as my older sons. Over the course of a year, I met with her regularly to pray and encourage her in her faith journey.
One day, she shared that she did not feel special in any way. As I prayed for her, I asked God for a picture and message that would remind her of how He sees her.
This purplish-pink rose was the image that came to mind. The colour speaks of her identity as a princess in God's kingdom, while the rose represents beauty, grace, and worth. Delicate, fragrant, and treasured, it reflects how precious she is in God's eyes.
My prayer is that whenever she looks at this painting, she will remember how deeply loved and valued she is.

I love Grace's artwork.
One of my favourites of this Lantana, which now sits on a low cupboard in my bedroom where the light falls on it each day. What makes this piece especially meaningful to me is its three-dimensional design. The yellow flowers, handcrafted from clay, catch the light beautifully and seem to come alive.
For me, that carries a deeper meaning. It reminds me to reflect God's glory and to stand out for Him wherever He has placed me.— Doreen Wong
My Inspiration:
Doreen has been a dear friend and fellow prayer warrior since we met in a women's prayer group in 2017. Over the years, we have stood alongside one another, praying, encouraging, and strengthening each other through different seasons of life.
As her birthday approached in 2024, I began praying about a meaningful gift for her. During that time, the word "orange" came to mind. Curious, I started searching for orange flowers, and for the first time, I came across the beautiful Citrus Lantana. As soon as I saw it, I sensed a quiet confirmation that this was the flower the Lord wanted me to paint for her..
A Message for Doreen:
Doreen, you are like this Citrus Lantana—a vibrant and beautiful bloom that flourishes even in difficult places, where the sun is hot and water and nutrients are scarce.
Your warmth and joy naturally draw people to you, just as the lantana attracts butterflies, bees, and hummingbirds. Through your life, you bring encouragement, refreshment, and hope to those who are weary and in need. Like the flowers that offer nectar to their visitors, you generously pour into the lives of others.
May you always remember how deeply loved and treasured you are by the Lord. He delights in the beauty He has formed within you, and He continues to use your life to bring His light and blessing to many.

My wife and I received this painting as a gift on our first wedding anniversary, and we treasure it dearly. It sits on the counter in our service yard, where we do our laundry and prepare our baby's milk. It's a space we pass through many times each day, and the bright colours bring so much life and joy to what would otherwise be an ordinary corner of our home.
More importantly, the painting is a constant reminder to lift our eyes to our Creator, even when life doesn't unfold as we expect. Just as the sunflower turns towards the sun, we are reminded to keep our eyes fixed on Him, trusting that He will guide us each step of the way.— Daniel

My Inspiration:
On my son Daniel's first wedding anniversary, I prayed and asked the Lord for inspiration to create a special gift for him and his wife. The image that came to me was a single sunflower.
Unlike an earlier painting of a field filled with sunflowers, this one began with just one flower, turning its face towards the light. As I worked on the painting, another image came unexpectedly—a blue butterfly.
To me, the colour blue represents learning to hear God's voice. The butterfly became a gentle reminder of growth, transformation and the journey of walking with Him.
Daniel is the first of my children to be married. This painting, expresses my prayer for this young family: that, like the sunflower, they would always turn towards God's light, and that, like the butterfly, they would continue to grow as they learn to recognise His voice and follow His leading.
My Inspiration:
Michelle asked whether I would pray and paint a picture of her father's home in heaven. As I prayed, however, I sensed the Lord leading me in a different direction. Rather than looking back, He wanted to remind her that He Himself would continue to be her loving Father, leading her into the next season of her journey.
I felt that I should paint a white and pink lily but not the normal 6 petal type, instead one that has many layers of petals from a photo I took at Gardens By the Bay when I brought my mom to Tulipmania in 2023.
After I finished positioning the flower, I felt the top left corner should remain empty. I was tempted to add something, but sensed I should wait. A few days later, the image of a yellow-orange butterfly came to mind. Only then did I understand what belonged in that space.
