In 2023, I was going through one of the toughest seasons of my life as I battled cancer. One day, Grace told me she felt prompted to paint a flower for me and showed me several of her flower paintings.
The moment I saw the sunflower, I chose it. Its bright yellow petals felt so cheerful, and the light shining through the centre of the painting filled me with hope that I would recover. Grace painted it for me, and it has hung in my dining room ever since.
I have since recovered from cancer, but my health journey continues, and there are still days when I feel discouraged. The painting continues to bring me joy whenever I look at it. It reminds me to let go of negative thoughts and to keep choosing hope, one day at a time. — Angie
